On Mornings That Whisper and Stillness That Heals

A Sunday Whisper | Reflection 9

ٱلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ ٱللّٰهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ

May this morning be healthy happy and happening
May your heart be light your thoughts clear your body strong and your soul at ease
May Allah grant you and your loved ones a life full of well-being barakah and inward calm

There are certain days when the mind is ripe with thought and the heart hums with unwritten sentences
The kind of day when metaphors bloom at the edge of your tongue
When the world seems to speak in symbols
And yet
The hand remains still
The pen feels heavier than usual
And the blank page stares back not with defiance
But with quiet indifference

It is not a lack of inspiration
Nor the absence of words
But the weight of something invisible
A fatigue of the spirit
A reluctance to open doors that might lead to truths we are not ready to face

On such days the silence isn’t empty
It is full
Full of half-formed thoughts
Unsent letters
Memories that dare not be named

There are mornings that feel like a knock on a forgotten door
Soft persistent and oddly familiar
They arrive with no fanfare and bring no news
Only the quiet reminder that being alive is a kind of miracle in itself

Today was one of those
The sunlight crawled in without asking
Settling on the corners of my bed like an old friend returning from a long journey
The world outside was already busy collecting noise
But inside the walls of my room time seemed to pause and stretch and breathe

I poured water into a chipped cup
Watched the steam rise
Felt the heat seep into my fingers
And suddenly I remembered how many mornings I have wasted waiting for something extraordinary

For good news
For a sign
For a change

But life is already full
Even in its silence
Even in its repetition

The same birds singing
The same sky
The same tea
But a different heart
A quieter one
A grateful one

And perhaps that is the secret
To live not waiting
But noticing

اللّٰهُمَّ اجْعَلْ هٰذَا الْيَوْمَ خَيْرًا لَنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ

May Allah make this day beautiful for us in this life and the next
May He protect us from harm guide us in confusion and place peace where we once felt worry
